During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the NOC and the FIVB, exploring opportunities for developing volleyball in Iran and Central Asia.
Noting the dynamic nature of Iran’s volleyball leagues, Khosravi-Vafa invited Azevedo to attend the finals of the Iranian Volleyball League in person to witness the energy and passion of the competitions firsthand.
Also, Alinejad emphasized Iran’s important geographical and strategic position in Central Asia, adding, “Iran has the potential to become a central hub for volleyball development in the region. To achieve this goal, support from the FIVB is essential.”
For his part, Azevedo expressed his initial approval for the idea of establishing the “Central Asia Volleyball Development Center” in Iran and requested that Iran submit a formal proposal for this initiative.
He also emphasized the FIVB’s readiness to enhance joint projects with the NOC.
