Baladeh is a beautiful, historic town in Mazandaran Province, nestled deep in the Central Alborz Mountains, just north of Nur County. With its untouched landscapes, abundant springs and rich past, this ancient settlement is considered one of the cultural and natural jewels of northern Iran.

Perched at a considerable elevation, Baladeh enjoys a cool, pleasant mountain climate in spring and summer, making it a favorite highland retreat for domestic travelers. It is also the birthplace and final resting place of several leading figures of modern Iranian history, most notably Seyyed Hassan Modarres.
