Izeh is a historic and culturally rich city in Khuzestan Province, located in the southwest of Iran, nestled in the foothills of the Zagros Mountains. With an ancient past, Izeh was formerly known as "Mal-e Amir" or "Idz," and once stood as a significant center of the Elamite civilization. The city holds a special place in the history of Iranian art, thanks to its remarkable rock carvings and bas-reliefs in sites such as Kul-e Farah, Ashkift-e Soleiman, and other archaeological areas. The people of Izeh are predominantly Bakhtiari Lors, speaking the Lori language.
