Ebrahim Salehi Omran, the president of Mazandaran University, told a group of researchers on Saturday that during last week’s trip to China and meetings at Guangzhou University, he presented “the distinguished capabilities of Mazandaran University and its elite professors” and discussed potential areas of joint work between the two sides.
He said that the establishment and development of joint laboratories, the creation of joint research projects and specialized laboratories in marine sciences, environmental protection, coastal areas and sustainable tourism were among the subjects identified for cooperation.
The university president added that technology transfer and innovation, the development of applied research stations, industrial cooperation and joint proposals for financing in emerging technologies as well as environmental solutions were also emphasized during the China visit.
Salehi Omran expressed the university’s interest in hosting scientific events, particularly in marine ecology, environmental management, cultural heritage studies and interdisciplinary research, along with faculty and student exchanges and study opportunities.
He said publishing joint journals, sharing academic expertise through editorial boards, internationalization efforts, and expanding cooperation with the Confucius Institute were also proposed during the discussions.
