Al Mahmoud Al Shareef met with Foroud Asgari, the Deputy Minister of Economy and head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), in Tehran, Iran’s capital, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Qatari ambassador highlighted the strong cooperation between Iranian Customs and Qatar in the area of transit, announcing that efforts are underway to sign an electronic data exchange agreement between the customs administrations of Iran and Qatar in the near future.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude for Iran’s solidarity with the Qatari government following the recent terrorist attack by the Israeli regime on the country.
For his part, Asgari condemned the Israeli aggression against Qatar, emphasizing the friendly and cordial relations between Iran and Qatar.
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration is working to enhance customs relations with Qatar in three key areas: the electronic exchange of data, the facilitation and acceleration of Iranian goods entering Qatari ports, and the organization of training courses and joint visits between the customs administrations of the two countries.
