Nournews: In its statement concerning the arrangements signed between Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi on the modalities of interaction between Iran and the Agency under the new circumstances (following the military attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran’s safeguarded nuclear facilities), the SNSC Secretariat outlined the following points:
The statement stressed that the text of the arrangements had been reviewed by the SNSC Nuclear Committee and that what has been signed is, in essence, the very same as what the Committee had approved.
The Secretariat added that the Nuclear Committee, comprised of senior officials from various relevant bodies, has always been authorized by the SNSC to make decisions, and in this case as well, it acted in accordance with its established procedures.
The statement went on to note that with regard to Iran’s nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards that have come under attack by the United States and the Zionist regime:
Once the necessary security and safety conditions are ensured, Iran will submit its report to the IAEA only after receiving the approval of the SNSC.
Subsequently, the operational modalities of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA regarding the submitted report must be agreed upon by both sides, and, in line with domestic procedures, any such action requires the approval of the SNSC.
The SNSC further underlined that in the event of any hostile action against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its nuclear facilities—including the reinstatement of previously terminated UN Security Council resolutions—the implementation of these arrangements will be suspended.
