Asghar Jahangir, the Spokesperson for the Judiciary System, announced the martyrdom of 71 people in Evin Prison due to Israel's attack. On details of the attack, he said that “according to official statistics, 71 people have been martyred so far.” Jahangir said that this attack will make every heart sad, adding that “the Zionists committed a savage crime and inflicted huge loss of life and property on ordinary people; even the neighbors were either martyred or left wounded.”

He said that the day the attack happened, a number of family members had come for a visit or to pursue the situation of prisoners. They were at the visit hall when the place was hit by a projectile which caused a number of our citizens to be injured and others were killed.”

The official said that some of those injured were transferred to the hospital and after receiving treatment, they were discharged.

Israel waged an unprovoked war against Iran on June 13, claiming that the war is against the Islamic Republic, not the ordinary people. However, nearly 700 people have lost their lives across Iran in the attacks so far.
