Paris Olympics: Iran’s Zare wins 125kg freestyle wrestling silver
Iranian freestyle wrestler Amir Hossein Zare has secured a silver medal in the men’s 125kg category at the Paris Olympic Games after losing to his Georgian rival.
Zare and Geno Petriashvili played in the final in a dramatic match on Saturday when the Iranian athlete lost to his opponent 9-10.
Zare advanced to the final a day earlier after he defeated rivals from Kyrgyzstan, Canada and Turkiye.
He gained bronze in the previous Olympic games held in Tokyo in 2020.
