Keeping away from NATO and the United States and the formation of an independent military (while it may be Europe's first necessary step towards security, which is certainly not a sufficient step,) if accompanied by "the will for independence from American sovereignty" among European leaders, can help Europeans to start the way toward achieving "security".

NOURNEWS - EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell, who visited Slovenia in a statement welcomed by Germany, said: "Developments in Afghanistan have shown the need to create a common army and defense force of European countries."

These positions, which can be considered a sign of Europe's disappointment with the United States and NATO, have been raised while since 1945, the end of World War II, the United States has ruled Europe under the NATO military umbrella and Marshall Plan.

Now, given the Taliban developments in Afghanistan and the flight of the United States and NATO from this country, the question is whether the formation of an army independent of NATO can provide European security and interests?

In answer to this question, a few points are noteworthy:

First; In addition to military dominance over Europe in the form of NATO, the United States has military bases in some of these countries, such as Germany and Britain, and has at least 200 nuclear warheads on the Green Continent that has no choice but to dismantle these bases.

Second; Security and Independence are not limited to the military sphere, but the economy and independence in global communications constitute another dimension of them. The behavior of European countries in the field of economics and global relations shows that they have not been able to maintain their independence.

Europe can achieve security independence with an army independent of the United States if it changes its course in the economic sphere and ends the policy of sanctions against other countries in order to enjoy their capabilities instead of following the United States.

Third; One of the causes of insecurity in Europe is accompanying US policies because they not only follow the US to intervene militarily in other countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc., but also at the request of the US, Europe actually supports terrorist groups such as ISIS, hypocrites that have become a source of security threats against Europe.

Given these facts, the formation of an independent army cannot guarantee Europe's security, but they should avoid the wrong policies of the past and end militarism and interference in the affairs of other countries instead of joining the United States, which is the main axis of terrorism in front of the resistance axis, which, according to the world, is at the forefront of the fight against terrorism.

According to this; Keeping away from NATO and the United States and the formation of an independent military (while it may be Europe's first necessary step towards security, which is certainly not a sufficient step,) if accompanied by "the will for independence from American sovereignty" among European leaders, can help Europeans to start the way toward achieving "security". Otherwise, the independent European army will suffer the fate of NATO, which, without efficiency, will bring only material and human costs to European citizens.
